Fiddly diddly dee...

...for todays card I have chosen to follow the suagr bowl sketch and theme.
The theme is paper-piecing, boy is this time consuming
not to mention FIDDLY.
The image I have chosen for my card is Dolly Pip, she's just adorable
and up until today still un-inked. (gasp)

For those of you who have yet to experience this delight,
paper-piecing  involves stamping the image you desire
several times onto different coloured, textured and/or patterned papers.
Then carefully cutting out the different elements to fit onto your desired image

Here I have used design paper from We R Memories 'Hippity Hoppity' range.
I love the circle design in similar colour contrast.
The striped design paper is from my stash.
I have used a distressing tool on my cardstock,
I think it adds an extra dimension and depth to this card.

The black cardstock is by Black Magic colorcore 'spell caster' range.
I embossed this with the cuttlebug 'Daisy' embossing folder.
When embossing this colorcore card
the embossed part comes through in the colour of the core.
Truly magical. ( I am however, easily entertained ).
The tannish colour cardstock is the reverse of the black colorcore.
The little butterfly charm is from my stash.

The ribbon is one I picked up at my local Boyes store.
(They have a 40p bucket, full of different colours.
I just can't resist buying some everytime I go in.)
The pearls and gems are from my stash.
(You can never have too many )
The plain green cardstock is by Papermania.

I don't think I've done too bad a job for my first attempt at paper-piecing.

The flowers are from Hobby House, one of my local craft shops.
I have cut the lovely little leaf shapes with my cricut
using the accent essentials cartridge.
I have used sticklto create the sparkle,
crystal on the flowers and eucalyptus on the leaves

He Loves Me (yeah, yeah, yeah)...

... I couldn't resist making another card today.
Especially as I've been able to play with my new cuttlebug.
Yes he finally caved in and bought me one   : )
Aren't I a lucky girl!!

I've used the craft concepts 'spring flowers' embossing folder.

The red gems and ribbon are from my stash.
I thought I'd try something new to me on the inside,

I have seen this somewhere before...
but as usual the image was stored in my brain but not the location (oops)

The red shiny card was bought in my local craft shop.
A nice surprise on the inside for the one you love...

Pink to Make the Boys Wink...

...hello again
Todays card is inspired by sketch saturdays challenge sketch.

The colour scheme I've used was set by sugar nellies on facebook.
I love the combination of soft pinks and grey.
Once again I have succumbed to the valentines theme.
The design papers were given to me when I first began my crafting journey,
it seem so long ago now.

This lovely little pip is called Jelly,
and as always I just love colouring with my promarkers.
I really don't know where I'd be without them.

My favourite cardstock at the minute is bazill bling,
It just shimmers and shines in the light and I like the depth of texture.
The grey cardstock is also one by bazill.
The cute little felt shapes are by making memories.
These were part of my xmas pressies from a friend.
The silver cord and daisy ribbon were both purchased from my local market.
the sparkle in her ribbon is done with stickles and the colour is thistle.

Love is in the air...

...todays card was inspired by the tip top tuesdays layers sketch.
As we know the year is flying by and valentines day will soon be upon us
I think this is why most of the challenges are valentines inspired.

I just adore this digi image by Krista Smith at saturated canary
she is called 'Queen of Hearts'
as always it is a pleasure to use my promarkers to colour,
be it stamps or digis.

I found this lovely design paper in my local craft store MB Crafts.
The colour scheme is set by crafty ribbon 'love is red and black'.
The little black hearts are from 'add some sparkle'
they have some lovely little blingy bits.

The card with LOVE on it is a lovely design paper
with many different sentiments, hearts and roses,
this can be used as one sheet
or as I have done and cut them out to use separately.
Again this paper was sourced from my local craft store.

I love using ribbon in my designs
and this sheer scarlet ribbon is from my stash.
I feel it just adds that 'je ne sais quois'.
The flowers are also from my stash,
a lovely xmas present from my friend.

Time for a change...

... well I thought I'd experiment over the weekend
and try something completely different to my usual array of cards.

A friend of mine has been making these cute tissue box covers
so I thought why not give it a try.
The cardstock is  Bazill Bling, so it has a nice shiny finish.

The grass and picket fence were both cut using a cuttlebug,
my friend did this for me.
I have though just talked my husband into getting me one.

I cut the hole for the tissues using my cricut, I truly love this machine
the flowers were also cut on this.
The butterfly's are from my stash as are the pearls.

This one is just to show that you can use any size tissue box.
The cardstock used is also Bazill Bling.
I picked up the pretty little daisy ribbon from my local craft shop,
I just feel it adds another dimension to this piece.

I used craftworks card candi around the hole for the tissues.
Again the butterfly's and pearls are from my stash.

Just a quickie...

...well time for something a little different I think,
that is different to what I normally do.
For this card I took my inspiration from a trip I made
to the NEC craft show in Birmingham last year.
I was fascinated by the use of acetate with peel-offs.
It gives the card that glossy shine of a peel-off
with the added depth and dimension of  using 3D foam pads.

I followed the clean and simple sketch set by top tip tuesday.
The colour scheme was set by delightful designs, black, pink and silver.

Its a bit difficult to capture the true colour of these amazing balloon peel-offs
as they are so intensely glittery. They are gold label peel-offs by craft creations.

These colours also happen to be my favourite colour combo.
I have made this card to thank a friend for helping me out.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

My Mums Craft Shop Challenge 40  - favourite colour combo

Divas by Design challenge 18  - new beginnings/thanks

Red Poppies...

...Today's creation began with a sketch set by Mojo monday.
I enjoy following set sketches.

I just love this set of stamps by Sugar nellies, this cutee is Cherry pip.
It is the first time I've inked her up and she is coloured in using promarkers
and what an absolute pleasure.
The colour scheme is 'seeing red' a challenge set by the Creative card crew.
I dug out the gorgeous poppy paper from the bottom of my cupboard,
These were given to me by a generous friend
when I first dipped my toes into the world of craft.
(some 5/6 months ago)

In this piece I have used three of my favourite embelishments
these being ribbon, pearls and gems.
All of which have come from my stash.
I should have been a magpie...
either that or gollum from Harry Potter, my shiny 'precious' things.
I love the depth that has been introduced in this card
by using the texture of the red felt against the smoothness of the design papers.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Oldie but a goodie  - use something that is at least 6 months old

My Time to Craft challenge 171  - favourite embellishment

Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT challenge 52 - bows

In The Swing of it...

...well I appear to be getting the hang of this 'blogging' business.
I really adore this little Sugar Nellie stamp she is called Honey Pip.
This card was made for my good friends birthday.
I coloured her in using my beloved Promarkers.

The sketch I followed was set by Erika from the sugar bowl.
I love the calm soothing effect of the colourway used in this card.
I used these colours to fit the sugar nellie Facebook challenge.

The paper I used is from my local craft shop.
For the stamptacular sunday  challenge - texture
I used the smooth shiny green card which I found in my stash.
Another texture is the corrugated card in that lovely sage green
I got this from Trotters Independent Traders
(and what a bargain, only £1 for 5 sheets of different colours)
I am a sucker for a bargain or two!.
The sentiment and the glittery ribbon I bought from MB Crafts in Cleethorpes.
The gems and card candy are from my stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges :

Flying Without Wings...

well here goes...

I took inspiration for this card from Quick Cards Magazine issue 95.

The papers were donated to me (by a very nice friend),
when I first began this creative streak (approx 5 months ago).
The cardstock is by Papermania,
the heart-shaped paperclip and buckle were cut on my cricut (oh how I love this machine).
I created the 3D effect of eyes by using pink Pearly Stuff by Woodware.
A lovely pale emerald brad from my stash.
The ribbon and pearls were also found in my stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges :

Top Tip Tuesday - challenge 67   - anything goes

Anything goes challenge 58  - anything goes
